🌌✨ Winter Stargazing at Northumberland Dark Sky Park with Wil! ✨🌌

We have partnered up with ‘stargazing with Wil’ to offer 20 special stargazing events this December at Walltown Country Park, right along Hadrian’s Wall – one of the darkest sky sites in the entire park. 

​

Due to the popularity of the December/January dates we have added 15 events for February 2026!

​

This unique location has everything you need: a warm space for talks and workshops, plus the perfect skies for unforgettable stargazing. Wil has identified an aurora zone as well for when the aurora appears he can walk to the best vantage point. 

​

Events are scheduled only on nights with no moonlight, so we’ll be making the very best of Northumberland’s Dark Sky status.

🔭 With some powerful telescopes including the National Park’s huge 16-inch telescope – you’ll enjoy the moons of Jupiter, Saturn’s rings, nebulas, galaxies and countless deep-sky wonders.

⭐️ Astrophotography for beginners ⭐️ New for February 2026!

 

Learn how to use your phone or DSLR/ mirrorless to take photos of the night sky including 

 

Milky Way, Shooting Stars, Comets, Aurora.

 

Bring your phone and camera and we will have a chance to take photos of the night sky weather permitting- if not we may try some light painting using long exposure photography. 

 

As well as practicals you will learn, the best time to photograph the Aurora, Milkyway and Shooting stars. 

 

The workshop is ideal for beginners. 

2x 3 hour sessions available on 8th & 12th February - 19:00 - 22:00
